MDL was founded in 1989 as Tom McNeil Inc. (TMI) in Wellesley, Massachusetts by Tom McNeil, who continues to serve as President, Executive Client Success & Network Outreach. The company has operated under MDL Partners for many years.

In December 2025, Alex Bennett became CEO and began leading the company into its next chapter. While the business still legally operates as MDL Partners, its public brand is now MDL Executive Network, the foundation of the broader MDL executive ecosystem.

For almost 40 years, MDL has helped executives position themselves into the right conversations before and during active hiring through strategic networking and executive coaching.

Under Alex Bennett’s leadership, MDL expanded its focus in 2026 to include executive visibility, leadership development, and organizational impact through consulting, fractional, and board opportunities.

MDL continues to evolve to meet the realities of the modern executive market, helping leaders build relationships, strengthen positioning, and create career momentum through the power of the MDL Executive Network.

The company now operates virtually through its MDL Partners entity in Clifton, New Jersey.
